With eco-friendly fall fashions in mind, it’s time to stock up on wardrobe staples that provide for endless outfit options throughout the fall and winter.  And one way to keep a personal style inventive and unique is having the right accessories on hand.   Accessories can dress up any outfit and makes interchanging wardrobe pieces easy and fun!

Eco-friendly bamboo scarves made from 100% viscose from bamboo offer an array of styling options from the pashmina-like Soft Frayed PashBu scarf (available in 8 colors!) to the Soft and Trendy Infinity Scarf by Yala that offers patterns as well as solid colors.  And there’s always a personal favorite, the Hand Painted Ombre Fashion Scarves by Yala, that are soft, elegant and hand-dyed making each scarf unique in itself.

Still need some scarf inspiration?  Beyond the simple knots and basic wraps, consider the many other ways scarves can be intertwined into a wardrobe including these ideas:

The Scarf as a Headband:  Rather than uncomfortable plastic head-bands, give your follicles a break this winter and use a soft scarf to tame a bad hair day.   Place the middle of the scarf at the middle of your forehead and bring the ends of the scarf around to the back of your head.  Tie a simple knot at the base of your crown.  Adjust as needed.

The Scarf as a Bow-Tie:  A fun way to liven up a business outfit, thin scarves lend themselves easily to the bow-tie method.  Hang the scarf around your neck with both sides hanging down evenly in front.  Tie a simple bow (like tying a present) and adjust depending on where you’d like the scarf to hang.  You can make it a shorter knot so it’s closer to your neck or a looser knot so it sways a little further down.

The scarf as a sexy head-turner:  If wearing that little black dress, draw everyone’s eye to a sexy back by wearing an infinity scarf with the loop at the back!

The Scarf as a Necklace:  Transition from day to night by changing a simple scarf into a knotted necklace.  Place the scarf around your neck so both sides hang down in front.  Tie the ends together wherever you would like your necklace to start and make multiple knots down the length of the scarf.  With this pattern, you can create as many or as few knots as you’d like.

The Scarf as a Shrug:  Perfect for those times that a jacket will just be too much!  Drape the scarf (a larger one) around your back.  Pull the ends of the scarf up and over your arms and then tie the ends of the scarf behind your back in a simple knot.  As simple as that, your scarf transforms into a shrug!

The scarf as an undercoat:  For those days when a cami just won’t cut it, liven up a jacket or sweater with a scarf.  Fold the scarf in half and then fold in half one more time.  Hang the scarf around your neck and criss-cross the two ends.  Tuck the two ends into your sweater or coat.

The scarf as a belt:  Thread a thin scarf through existing belt loops to utilize as a colorful belt or go more sash-like by folding the scarf to the desired width and tying it around your waist into a simple bow.

Whether for fashion or warmth (or both) scarves make a versatile and fun addition to any wardrobe.   And the tips listed above are just the beginning of the many styling options available!  Make sure to visit Green Earth Bamboo to see their complete selection of eco-conscious, stylish and luxuriously soft bamboo scarves.
